Salman khan’s drink and driving scandal is still fresh in people’s memory when he drove rashly and ran over some poor people and ran away from the spot ironically the same salman khan is doing a ad to bring awareness for hit and run cases.
in this ad he tells people not to leave the victims on roads to be dead. stay there and try to help them out. he conveys the message not to drive when you are drunk.
A source says, “The ad talks about how people just ignore those who are in distress on roads when hit by someone. It shows a man hit by a vehicle who is left to die.”
Nikhil Saini who directs the ad says, Yes, Salman has done a 90-second ad with us. After the story unfolds, Salman comes to give a public service message. He is wearing ‘Being human’ shirt and he says, “Apni zimmidari se mat bhagiye. Responsible aur zimmedar logo ki zaroorat hai is desh ko.” The ad also has Vipin Sharma, (Darsheel Safary’s father in Tare Zameen Par) and Shailendra Gaur, in it. We are quite hopeful of driving home the point.”
well lets see if people take him seriously.
“It’s a misconception that after films like ‘Saawariya’ and ‘Delhi-6′, I’m only looking at films with serious overtones. All I look for is meat in my role.”
“See, I have never looked down upon hardcore commercial cinema. It’s just that I never wish to be an arm candy who does four songs, a couple of scenes and then vanishes away from screen. Those are not at all the kind of roles that excite me,” added Sonam, who will be seen in her father Anil Kapoor’s home production titled “Ayesha”.
The 23-year-old may have suffered two box office failures in the “Delhi-6″ and “Saawariya”, but that hasn’t hampered her passion for movies.
“Give me a meaningful role and I will do it even if it is hardcore commercial. Who says Bollywood masala movies do not have good roles for heroines? Look at what Lara Dutta did in ‘No Entry’. Now that’s a kind of role that I certainly don’t mind doing,” she said.
Any other reference points?
“Priyanka Chopra’s role in ‘Dostana’,” she said promptly. “She was so good in the movie and the character was extremely well-written as well.”
Incidentally, Lara had played Anil’s wife in “No Entry” while Sonam’s “Delhi-6″ co-star Abhishek Bachchan was seen with Priyanka in “Dostana”.

Sources reveal, “SRK has been dancing at weddings and earning big moolah for years now and he has non apologetic about it. His price is reportedly around Rs 3-4 crore for such performances. This time, he shall be performing with three of Bollywood’s top heroines. Though the names haven’t been confirmed, there is strong buzz that Rani Mukherjee, Bipasha Basu and Celina Jaitley are scheduled to perform along side SRK. Akki had earlier danced for the wedding of Kanti Govani’s son and had made a entry that time on a horse back. Salman Khan too had performed that time and was reportedly gifted a sports car for his act.”
The film would star Rajan Verma, who essays the role of Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone terrorist caught alive during the Mumbai terror attack in November 2008.
Produced by Hari Om Sharam, Anand Pandrey and Kumar, Total Ten is budgeted at a meagre Rs. 3 crore and shows the journey of Kasab from Pakistan to the trial court in Mumbai.
The other actors performing the movie are Sudesh Berry, who plays Vijay Salaskar (former Senior Police officer and encounter specialist), Homi Wadia, who plays Hemant Karkare (former Chief of Mumbai anti-terrorist squad), Ashok Kulkarni, who plays Ashok Kamte (former Additional Commissioner of Mumbai police) and Ashish Vidyarthi, who plays Tukaram Ombale (former assistant sub-inspector of Mumbai Police).
All these brave men were killed while fighting the terrorists in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
Describing the theme of his movie, Surendar Suri said that Total Ten was a tribute to these Mumbai police officers who paid the ultimate price while fighting for their countrymen.
“The title of the film ‘Total Ten’ if you read then you will come to know that there were only ten Mumbai police officers who got Ashok Chakra (bravery awards) and only those people get Ashok Chakra who have performed some heroic deeds. So this film is my tribute to their bravery,” said Suri.
Rajan Verma said he believes that the movie will give a message to those youngsters who have gone off track but not to trod the path of terrorism.
“This is not a mere film but it’s a message from those terrorists who are churned out of so called terror factories. We don’t have to finish one terrorist but we have to close those terror factories. And these terror factories will stop when the raw material (the youngsters) supplied to them is stopped. Through this film I have to give a message to those youngsters who have gone astray not to become terrorists,” said Verma.
Kasab was one of 10 gunmen who arrived in Mumbai last November via sea route from Pakistan to terrorise the city, killing 166 people. (ANI)
Three other celebrities from the Arab world are also endorsing the campaign. More than 8,000 calls with over 1,000 personal voice messages were recorded for the four celebrities, including Khan, du said in a statement.
However, it was not clear whether the campaign including all the four celebrities ran on the same day. Du said, “The number of calls almost went up 200 per cent on the second day itself”.
While several fans and movie buffs expressed disbelief and questioned the validity of the number, du said the number was genuine and not a marketing gimmick. For those who dialed the number, a taped message in Khan’s voice greeted then in Hindi that “Hi this is Shahrukh Khan. I can not take your call right now. Please leave your message and love”.
Three other celebrities from the Arab entertainment world, the creator of the animated housewives series Freej, Mohammed Saeed Hareb, leading jewelery designer Azza Al Qubaisi and famous Lebanese TV presenter George Kurdahi, are also part of the ad campaign.
According to a source, “Last year Abhishek was slogging it out in Miami for Dostana and Aishwarya joined him there for their wedding anniversary. This year they were again supposed to be working, though happily together, for the next schedule of Mani Ratnam’s Raavan on their anniversary”.
But with Mani Ratnam asked by doctors to rest out for a while, the schedule has been slightly pushed ahead, giving the pair a chance to go for a much needed holiday.
The source says, “In fact Mani had suggested he would start the schedule later to give Abhishek and Aishwarya a chance to take time off for their anniversary. But the couple had refused. Its only now when the schedule is pushed ahead that they have decided to take that anniversary holiday”.
Priyanka Chopra has many promising projects in hand. She is currently busy shooting with Uday Chopra for Yash Rak “Pyar Impossible“. Priyanka Chopra had a fabulous 2008 and looking forward to her next release Vishal Bhardwaj’s “Kaminay” starring Shahid Kapoor.
Neither producer Sajid Nadiadwala nor Anand are willing to divulge any details of the movie. Ranbir Kapoor also has many wonderful projects in his bags. He is paired with Katrina Kaif in “Rajniti” and “Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani”.
The father of a child actress in the film Slumdog Millionaire is offering to sell her for £200,000, it was claimed yesterday.
Rafiq Qureshi, who lives in poverty in Mumbai, reportedly attempted to trade nine-year-old Rubina Ali in an illegal adoption deal.
It had been hoped that the film's success would transform her life. But her father and an uncle were said to have claimed that they are being forced to put her up for sale because the family has not received enough of the proceeds.
They were accused of using her fame as a bargaining tool to push up the price they can get for her - first asking £50,000 and later quadrupling the amount. The uncle, Moihuddin Qureshi, was said to have told an undercover reporter: 'The child is special now. This is not an ordinary child. This is an Oscar child.'
The claims were made following a 'sting' operation by the News of the World, which said it had been alerted that the child was for sale in a tip-off from a former family neighbour.
It was reported that the little girl, her father and uncles all went to a hotel to meet the 'prospective buyers', supposedly a family from Dubai, to discuss the deal in detail.
Confronted about the story yesterday, Rafiq Qureshi angrily denied thaA source close to the family told the Daily Mail: 'Rafiq was told to bring Rubina to the hotel, where a rich man wanted to discuss a job with him.
'He happily agreed because Rubina can earn good money since her Slumdog success. She has had many movie offers. Rafiq didn't understand everything that was being said to him but he was happy to discuss money for a wellpaying job for his daughter. He loves her like any father loves his daughter.
Later Rafiq added: 'Whatever money you have agreed with Rajan, I will accept. There is a lot of interest in Rubina - she has become very famous.'
Trafficking of poor children from across the Asian sub continent has become an increasing problem.
Some are sold to the Middle East where they are forced to risk their lives as camel jockeys or subjected to sexual exploitation and abuse.
The shack that Rubina calls home is yards from an open sewer. There was an outcry after pictures emerged of her and co-star Azharuddin Mohammed
in Ismail, who played the young Salim, living in squalor despite the film's success. Both families have consistently complained that the filmmakers have abandoned them to their fate.
Producer Christian Colson told the Daily Mail last night: 'We have friends and colleagues in Bombay who are trying to speak with Mr Qureshi to get to the bottom of what happened. Her family is under a lot of pressure.'He and director Danny Boyle are planning next month to visit the young stars, who were plucked off the street for auditions to star in the film.
Mr Colson added: 'Danny and I are committed to Rubina and Azharuddin for the long term. We are trying to keep a roof over their heads, and keep them in school until they are 18. The problem is there are a lot of parties who are telling the parents different things.
'We agreed to buy apartments a couple of months ago but that process stalled because they decided they wanted the money up front instead.
'In the past few days we have got things back on track, and are now back looking at apartments.'
The film makers have set up a trust to give a lump sum to each child when they are 18.
Properties will also be placed in trust, with ownership released to the parents only when the children turn 18 and have completed their education.
Mr Colson added: 'We can't buy the properties outright and give them to them, because in all honesty they will sell them.'
According to the News of the World, Mr Qureshi is desperate to make the most of his daughter's success and get them out of their hut in the Mumbai slum known as Poor Man's Colony.
It claimed he had already been approached by a family from Dubai, but was hoping to start a bidding war.
Rafiq allegedly directed a reporter to his brother-in-law Rajan More, who said: 'Rubina's life is miserable. Obviously if you wanted to adopt, we could discuss this, but her parents would expect some proper compensation return. We are talking around £50,000 for this to happen.'
you must remember Kareena kapoor wearing bikini in her flop movie tashan .after that now she is again in news for wearing bikini in her upcoming movie kambakht ishq. but she has decided not to wear bikini ever in any movie again. she also has requested the producers of kambakht ishq to remover her bikini shots from the movie.
The same reason is why we are seeing more of a saree clad Bebo these days, she asks, “Enough of those gowns. Why can’t we actresses dress Indian?”
A source reveals, “Kareena feels very comfortable with Saif’s parents. She has never felt more a part of any family outside her own. Although Saif’s mother Sharmila too wore a bikini for a magazine cover in her heyday, she completely revamped her wardrobe and bohemian attitude once the Nawab of Pataudi came into her life. Kareena now sees the legacy of the Khan bahu being passed on to her. She will not do anything that’ll compromise her status in Saif’s life.”
However we have seen still of Kareena in swimsuit from Kambakht Ishq, however Kareena denies wearing any bikini in the flick, she says, “Maine bikini kahaan pehna hai? In logon ne chalu kar diya ‘bikinibikini’. I will never wear a bikini.”
