Neetu Singh never liked Deepika Padukone
A lot is being said and written about the reason behind Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor calling off their relationship. From Ranbir's hookup with Katrina Kaif to Deepika's over possessive nature there hasn't been a angle that hasn't been talked about. But the truth is that many factors played catalyst to the split, one of them being Ranbir's mother Neetu Singh. Deepika may have dated Ranbir but she could never become close to the Kapoors.Deepika and Neetu were always known to share cold vibes and Neetu had never been too happy about her son's choice. It may be recalled that earlier in the year Neetu had said that Deepika was just another girlfriend in her son's life. The actress of the yesteryears had also said that both of them were young and marriage was a long way to go and it was also not sure if they would stick to each other. Well it seems like Neetu's words have come true in less than a year.

Saif, Deepika and The Hidden Cameras
The entire unit of Love Aaj Kal took a collective risk when they failed to get the permission to shoot a few important sequences of the film at London’s Leadenhall Market. Since the scenes were integral to the plot, director Imtiaz Ali and producer-actor Saif Ali Khan decided to take the risk and shoot them covertly at the same market.
So how did they do it?
The cameras were placed inside vans that were parked in the market. The film’s crew and cast that also comprises Deepika Padukone sauntered casually to the shooting spot. But since they could not keep secret the fact that they were shooting, the unit pretended that they had the requisite permission.
Funnily, the cops on duty bought it. They not just let the cast and crew shoot but even helped in the shooting. When a woman with a horse passed by and Imtiaz failed to catch her on camera, the co-operative cops called the woman back and let her walk again with the horse so that Imtiaz could shoot her.
Luckily, no one caught the film unit’s bluff.
Now, you can catch these scenes when the film releases on July 31.
Perhaps Imtiaz should send free tickets to those cops.

I don’t know Deepika, I miss Kareena: Saif
Ask anyone, who is the most lovelorn of all dandies in Bollywood? And the instant reply would be Saif Ali Khan! The ‘Kareena-tattoo’ flashing star is so much smitten by the apple-of-his-eye Kareena that he doesn’t refrain from making ungallant comments about other ladies in filmdom, only to please his love. According to recent news, the actor-turned-producer of ‘Love Aaj Kal’ made an ungracious remark about co-star Deepika Padukone in a recent interview.
In one of his recent interviews, Saif Ali Khan admitted to a news daily that he has nothing to do with Deepika and they only came together for the film. He said, ``I don`t know Deepika very well in real life. I missed Kareena during the shoot but had to respect my director`s call.``
Inspite of playing the lead in ‘Love Aaj Kal’, Deepika has been sidelined and Bebo has been hogging the limelight with beau Saif catering to her whims. There has been news that the two actresses cannot stand each other and after this comment, things are bound to get sour between Saif and Deepika.
However, Saif is too much insecure about Kareena to be cautious about the sentiments of others. The woeful plight of a certain Shahid Kapur seems to haunt him. No, Saif?

Surprisingly, the much-talked-about film Love Aaj Kal has been in the news more for Kareena Kapoor's absence than the presence of the new sensation Deepika Padukone. It could be because everybody expected Saif Ali Khan, who produces and plays the lead role, to rope in his real life girlfriend but Deepika seems to be not happy with it all.The news is doing the rounds that Deepika is irked by the unending talks on Kareena's exclusion from the film. It seems she has told her friends that Love Aaj Kal should be dedicated to Kareena. Deepika did confirmed that it must be the first time in the history of cinema that a leading lady is being talked about so much for not being in the film.
However, Deepika is not annoyed with Kareena for drawing all the attention unlike the reports in the media. She is sure that people will start talking about her once the film is released. She revealed that Imtiaz Ali was sure that she should act in the film and offered her the role even before the release of her debut film Om Shanti Om.

Deepika Padukone the most Searched word on Yahoo
Deepika trumps her peers to emerge Most Searched Word on a portal's entertainment category
Deepika Padukone recently received the Yahoo! Search Buzz Award 2008 in Mumbai.
Says a source close to Deepika, "While Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor are vying with each other to be voted the sexiest actress in B-Town, Deepika has quietly emerged ahead of them. She was given an award for the Most Searched word in the entertainment category. The awards have been announced on the basis of the most searched keywords for 2008 and the searches are performed by users of Yahoo! India."
The source adds, "This is quite surprising considering Deepika is just three films old and one would have thought that actresses like Priyanka Chopra and Aishwarya Rai would have been voted in terms of popular appeal."
The website is also planning a television show on the Search Awards which will be promoted and aired on their television partner's channel in late May.
Reacting to the news, Deepika says, "I am a bit surprised but it's fun. They presented me with an award so I have one more to add to my collection now."
It definitely gives Deepika an edge above the rest considering she's still a newbie while the others in contention (Katrina Kaif, Aishwarya Rai, Rani Mukerji among others) have done many films. Says Deepika diplomatically, "That doesn't matter as the other actresses also must have received awards at some point. It's about enjoying the moment and having fun. It all stems from loving what I do being an actor."
Other celebrities who received awards included:
Most Searched Sports Personality Yuvraj Singh and Sachin Tendulkar. Most Searched Indian Film Kamal Haasan's Dasavatharam

Saif Ali Khan hurts Deepika Padukone
Saif Ali Khan not only wanted his love Kareena Kapoor in his life but the actor also wished to cast her in his debut production. The very thought of Saif has hurt Deepika. Saif wanted Kareena to cast in Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Love Aaj Kal’ but on Imtiaz’s insistence, he signed Deepika Padukone.
Though hurt by Saif’s acceptance of not wanting her in his film, Deepika has shown great maturity in her reaction. She is reluctant to comment on Saif’s verdict as he is her producer and co-star. She instead spoke in favor of the actor and praised him as a co-star.
Deepika Padukone is rather happy that director Imtiaz Ali chose her over Kareena despite Saif’s insistence to cast Kareena. Deepika concluded that she fits the role so well as if the story has been written keeping her in mind.

First look at Love Aaj Kal Movie
Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan’s production house Illuminati Films is set to release its maiden venture “Love Aaj Kal” (pictured above), in association with Eros International.
“Love Aaj Kal” is director Imtiaz Ali’s much awaited release after his hugely successful “Jab We Met”. It has been shot in London, San Francisco and New Delhi.
The film stars Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukoue, Rishi Kapoor and Rahul Khanna.
The film also features British model and actress Florence Brudenell-Bruce who makes her debut opposite Saif. Neetu Singh too has a small role.
Saif and Deepika are paired together for the very first time.
Says a source, “Saif and Deepika are looking fabulous together… the chemistry they share is unbelievable.”
Though producers have tired their best to keep the film under wraps, the movie has already generated a strong buzz.
“Love Aaj Kal” has a fresh take on relationships that will appeal to everyone. It is a love story spanning two generations; Rishi and Neetu play the older couple with Saif and Deepika represent the new generation.
Deepika says her character in the film comes eerily close to her real self.
“It's scary the kind of stuff Imtiaz has envisaged for my character in the film it's so close and similar to me. It's almost as if he had written the film with me in mind."

Deepika's turning Pink
She is just three films old but that doesn’t stop her from being one of the hottest actresses in Bollywood.
Recently, the Pink City caught a glimpse of glam girl Deepika Padukone who was here to be a part of an event organised by a soft drink brand. However, this is not Deepika’s first visit to the Pink City. The actress was here last week too.
This time around, Deepika arrived in the city on Thursday and was directly escorted to her hotel amidst tight security. In spite of spending an entire day in Jaipur, Deepika did not venture out of the hotel to sight see or shop. Says a source from the hotel, “Deepika was inside her room most of the time and security was tightened inside the hotel. Even the staff from the hotel was not allowed to wait on her. She was looked after by the staff from the soft drink brand. Deepika was served a buffet lunch which comprised of traditional Rajasthani dishes which included chicken curry, dal, paneer, chapatti and rice.” Deepika left her hotel early on Friday morning. She walked into the airport looking lovely in a white sweatshirt, white capris and huge sunglasses. Most of the passengers at the airport were not able to recognise the stunning actress immediately, but when they did, there was a beeline for autographs. As she was whiskered away by the security personnel of the airlines, the Pink City was left hoping that this pretty woman would be back soon.

Deepika beats Katrina in Popularity
Deepika Padukone managed to outdo her b te noire Katrina Kaif for once.
The Om Shanti Om and Bachna Ae Haseeno star who beame the new stuntwoman of Bollywood with her recent flop flick Chandni Chowk to China, Deepika was declared the most searched name in the People category by Yahoo! India.
Yahoo! India's top people search 2008 was dominated by Deepika Padukone as opposed to Google's India Zeitgeist 2008 where Katrina Kaif was the most searched person in India.
Yahoo! had announced the most popular searches, themes, and trends as part of its 2008 Year-ender Special on the basis of searches conducted by millions of users from India. Following Deepika in the top people searches were Shilpa Shetty and Aishwarya Rai. Also in the race were other actresses like Bipasha Basu and Kareena Kapoor .
Well Deepika might have outshone Katrina for a while, but it remains to be seen that in the matters of heart concerning certain Mr Kapoor which of the two leggy beauties will finally win!

CC2C Bombs: Akshay dumps Deepika
Just about a week back there were talks of Akshay Kumar signing multiple projects with Deepika Padukone. All that seems to be out of question now as Akshay had decided to dump Deepika after the debacle of Chandni Chowk To China. Akshay has in fact roped in Deepika's arch rival Sonam Kapoor for his next movie Come On Pappu.
Come On Pappu will be the directorial debut for David Dhawan's son Rohit Dhawan. Sources close to the director say that the female lead's role was open and had Chandni Chowk To China done well Deepika would have surely bagged the role. But since the pairing didn't click Akshay didn't want to do another movie with Deepika instead chose her biggest rival Sonam Kapoor.
Deepika and Sonam have had mutual dislike for each other since the time their debut movies Om Shanti Om and Saawariya clashed at the Box Office. Ranbir Kapoor had dated Sonam after his first breakup with Deepika. Later the Kapoor scion went back into the arms of the OSO actress. Loosing the role to Sonam will hurt Deepika more than loosing a role in the movie.

Deepika does not Consider herself a Supertar
Deepika Padukone is one of the most beautiful actresses in Bollywood Film Industry and these days she is getting appreciation for her outstanding performance in ‘Chandni Chowk To China’. She had done adventurous stunts in ‘Chandni Chowk To China’.She started her career with Bollywood King Shahrukh Khan in ‘Om Shanti Om’ and in second film she worked under Yash Raj Films. She has a huge list of well-wishers but she admits that I am not a famous personality.
Deepika Padukone said, “I don’t consider myself a celebrity. Fortune smiled on me and I got the opportunity to work with Shahrukh Khan. He is truly a King Khan. My parents have kept me grounded and rooted and now I’ll bring credit to my parents.”She further added, “I’ve seen my father (badminton champion Prakash Padukone) handle success truly well and I am following his steps. For me success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm. He has always encouraged me and for me work is more important than money.
I always give 100% dedication to my work. I had to do a strict training in ‘Chandni Chowk To China’ and I hope people will like the film.”
