Bebo’s back in beachwear!

After making the men go weak in the knees by showing off her fab body in a two-piece bikini in Tashan, our Bebo will set the screen on fire once again in Kambakkht Ishq.

http://movies.indiatimes.com/photo.cms?msid=4335249

Kareena will be seen wearing a black swim-suit once again as she’ll be seen as a supermodel in the film who falls in love with stunt-man Akshay.

A unithand of the film revealed, “Kareena has been impeccably dressed in Kambakkht Ishq. She looks like a real life supermodel. She will be seen in a black swimsuit though not a bikini in this film.

Bebo, you are definitely getting hotter by the day.

No Rules for SRK: Sonam Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor may be just two films old, but she is choosy about her roles and has drafted strict guidelines for herself to sign movies.

http://img1.chakpak.com/se_images/15200_-1_564_none/sonam-kapoor-wallpaper.jpg

The young actress is, however, willing to make exceptions if the man opposite her happens to be Robert De Niro or Shah Rukh Khan.

"Well, why would one actually ask questions if paired opposite Robert De Niro?" asks Sonam with a mischievous smile. "You should consider yourself plain fortunate to just share a common frame with him. In fact, I will be happy to even walk past a frame featuring him. No questions asked. Period."

Sonam teamed up with Ranbir Kapoor in her debut vehicle "Saawariya" and she was seen with Abhishek Bachchan in her second film "Dilli 6". She is now looking forward to a movie with superstar Shah Rukh.

"He is another man for whom I will be so very willing to ignore my rule book. I would be more than happy to go ahead and sign a film if Shah Rukh happens to be my hero," says Sonam, a self-confessed Shah Rukh fan.

"There are exceptions that one makes about the size and content of the role when it comes to working with legendary actors; De Niro and Shah Rukh just fit the bill," she said.

However, when it comes to working on films with anyone lesser, Sonam certainly has her do's and don'ts in place.

"I don't intend to do films where all I am required to do is to dance in four songs and enact a couple of emotional scenes. By no means am I looking at that kind of cinema," she said.

Though the formal announcement of her next film is yet to take place, reports are that Sonam's next will be for her dad's production house. The film is called "Ayesha" and is based on Jane Austen's novel "Emma".

According to industry sources, Sonam will be making a complete about turn from her "Saawariya" and "Delhi 6" image and take on a completely new ultra-chic avtar. The film will feature Abhay Deol along with newcomer Arunodoy Singh, who will soon make his debut with "Sikandar".

Sonam and Imran Khan are meanwhile reportedly being considered by Kunal Kohli for his next film that would be directed by his assistant Danish Aslam. However, confirmation is still awaited around this young love story.

Girl-Next-Door Amrita Rao gets sexy

The already rising summer temperature is going to trouble us further as Amrita Rao is all set to unleash her sexy avatar with her upcoming summer release film Shortkut. The Vivaah actress is all set to shed her inhibitions on the big screen and look as sexy and glamorous as a girl of her age should look like. Shortkut is a Anil Kapoor production co-starring Akshaye Khanna and Arshad Warsi and is being directed by Neeraj Vora.

http://bollywoodbuzz.in/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/amrita.jpg

Bringing the transformation to her style is none other than designer guru Manish Malhotra. Yes Manish has been giving such kind of makeovers to almost all the heroines of the industry starting with Urmila Matondkar in Rangeela, Karisma Kapoor on Raja Hindustani to name a few. Likewise, Amrita will flaunt her abs and legs in skimpy clothes for Shortkut.

Amrita Rao revealed, "Till now most of my characters in films that I have done, have been conservative and that is why I have had to dress the part. In Vivaah, the character was so traditional that the attire had to support her beliefs. But Shortkut is a different film and I am wearing clothes accordingly. And all I can say is that Manish has done a fabulous job and I feel I am looking great."

Shortkut was earlier scheduled for release in March but the Indian Premiere League's earlier schedule postponed. The film now may release in the end of May.

I doesn't like Bachchan presence: Biapsha Basu

Bipasha Basu missed the showing of Shiamak Davar's collection launched by a sportswear company on Thursday night. What's particularly interesting about this bit of news is that Bipasha is the brand ambassador of said company.

http://www.bharatwaves.com/portal/uploads/original_Bipasha-Basu_47b7f8eeb12ec.jpg

A source present at the event says, "Shiamak and Reebok tied up to present his collection of the Bollywood workout program and the fashionable dance collection on Thursday night at a suburban hotel. Bipasha too was invited to the launch as she's the company's brand ambassador. But she didn't turn up even though she was in Mumbai."

The source further says, "Initially, Bipasha had committed to attend but something happened and she didn't turn up at the last moment leaving the organisers flustered. Fortunately, Shiamak saved the show with hiscrew putting a performance put up by specially challenged children.

Apparently, Bipasha was miffed that Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan had also been invited at her event and she wouldn't get solo coverage which she had wanted to promote her film, Aa Dekhen Zara, that released yesterday. Shiamak had sent her T-Shirts with the sportswear logo and design a day before the event but she still didn't go."

Bipasha's spokesperson says, "This is not true at all. It was more a Shiamak event than a Reebok event. Bipasha would have loved to attend it because she's the company's brand ambassador and also because Shiamak is a friend.

She was an invitee and it wasn't imperative that she attend the event. Also the timings clashed with her prior commitment for her movie (Aa Dekhen Zara) promotions and a preview screening on the eve of the film's release. The timings were clashing for both events and hence she couldn't attend the same. The brand had invited her on Tuesday for the event on Thursday and they were informed at the same time about the timing stress."

I am the face of Barbie, not Ash: Katrina Kaif

It's official: Katrina Kaif is the new Barbie girl. Rubbishing the buzz that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was to be the new face of the Barbie doll, the new super-confident Katrina Kaif quips, "As far as I know, Aishwarya was never under consideration. It was me. So I don't know where these stories came from."

http://mid-day.com/imagedata/2009/mar/barbie.jpg

Katrina's face will now adorn those of Barbie dolls worldwide. And the actress is for once openly flattered.
"I'd call it a fun honour.

KAT CALL: Katrina Kaif in a pink dress like the one designed for the Katrina Barbie at the Fashion Week yesterday.
To have your face on dolls that you've played with from childhood is quite flattering. We've been in negotiations for nearly six months. It finally came together for the 50th year celebration of Barbie," she reveals.

Yesterday, at the Fashion Week, Katrina walked the ramp in a small pink dress like the one designed for the Katrina Barbie. Says Katrina, "Contrary to what people believe, my Barbie is not an Indian counterpart of the international brand.

It's an honour because I'm the first Indian to be the face of Barbie. I think in many ways it's an endorsement of how kids connect with me.

You can't be the face of an international doll unless kids like you. The thought that kids like me enough to make me a part of their doll collection is very gratifying."

With the Barbie image coming to the surface again, Katrina is somewhat worried about the bubbly-girl image that she'd like to change.

"So much for my attempts to move to a more mature level as an actor," laughs the actress. "I guess Prakash Jha's Rajneeti will take care of that. But I'm very happy being the clean healthy Barbie."

The doll's look and dress were planned in collaboration with Kat. "It is quite something, if you think about it. But I'd rather not. I don't want my head to get swollen.

For me it's enough that I was chosen because I reflect a certain bubbly wholesome personality, quite contrary to the sexy tag that I get in net polls and which I'm not very comfortable with," she says. The Katrina Barbie will be launched in September.

The other Barbies

Katrina Kaif will become the first Indian and join the likes of Beyonce Knowles, Elizabeth Taylor and Diana Ross, who have all had their own limited edition celebrity Barbies

Mallika Sherawat to Endorse Play-boy

She came, she saw (or is it 'showed'), she conquered! We are indeed talking about the one and only Mallika Sherawat. After having won everyone's hearts alike with her superlative performance in Murder, Mallika went onto become one of Bollywood's most prized and desirable possession, a tag that she carries with her till today, with elan!

For those who feel that Mallika has done the great vanishing trick after her last release Welcome, here's some news that will actually act as some fragrance! Well, the news is that the international brand 'Playboy' (not the magazine, but the perfume) has been rumored to have roped in Madame Mallika for its launch in India, which should happen anytime mid-April.

Although it's not clear as to whether she will be endorsing the brand or be merely inaugurating the launch party, one thing is for sure, that not just the 'Playboy' perfume will be a huge sellout, but also will garner lots of bunny points for itself. What say, Mallika!

First look of Movie Kambakkht Ishq

Scheduled to release this summer, the Akshay Kumar - Kareena Kapoor starrer, directed by Sabbir Khan is already creating a huge buzz and promises to be one of the biggest entertainer to hit screens this year.

An exciting ‘chemistry’ between a dashing stuntman in Hollywood who lives by the mantra ‘women are only good for...’ and a firebrand model who can more than stare down the most arrogant male with her caustic wit and sardonic tongue, Kambakkht Ishq creates a perfect premise for a thrilling battle of the sexes.

Eros is highly focused on Kambakkht Ishq - an exciting marriage between the east and the west, a romantic comedy and action with Hollywood favorites Sylvester Stallone, Brendan Routh and Denise Richards playing interesting roles in the film as well.
Eros International will be unveiling the first look of its highly awaited film ‘Kambakkht Ishq’, a co-production with Sajid Nadiadwala. The trailer will accompany Eros’ Aa Dekhen Zara which is releasing this Friday, March 27, 2009.

Akki gets knocked down

Hurts elbow and back while working out but returns to work nevertheless Akshay Kumar hurt himself badly on Wednesday morning while working out at his personal gym at his bungalow in Karjat.

http://mid-day.com/imagedata/2009/mar/Akshay.jpg

This is the same bungalow in Karjat that filmmaker Vipul Shah has constructed for Akshay and his family, while he shoots for Vipul's next, titled Action Replay with Aishwarya Rai.

Work comes first

Says a unit member from the sets, "Akshay has been shooting for a week now. He was at his bungalow in Karjat when the accident happened.

Akshay was doing pull-ups on the bar when the rod broke. He injured his hand and hurt his back.

When Vipul heard about it, he rushed to the house and panicked.

He was shocked at the bleeding and insisted on cancelling the shoot but Akshay told him to finish the day's shoot."

The source adds that Akshay came back to Mumbai in the evening and was back in Karjat on Thursday to resume shooting. "He was treated right there and then in Mumbai. Now he's able to move around as he resumed shooting from yesterday."

Vipul Shah confirms Akshay's accident and says, "While working out, one of the rods broke and Akshay had a bad fall. His elbow got cut badly and was bleeding profusely so I wanted to pack up immediately but Akshay wanted to carry on and he did. He didn't take any medicines during the shoot."

Apparently Akshay has been having severe back pain for the last week or so. Vipul says, "Yes Akshay was having trouble with his back and that's why I was worried as he fell on his back. Akshay did get hurt on his back and was in lots of pain but he still continued to shoot and completed the scenes for the day."

Akshay's next release is Nagesh Kukunoor's thriller 8 X 10 Tasveer which releases on April 3.

Accident-prone Akshay

In 2008 Akshay Kumar's thirst for thrill injured him while he was shooting under 75ft deep water for Blue, his upcoming action-adventure movie with Sanjay Dutt and Lara Dutta in the Bahamas. The shot required Akshay to be underwater surrounded by 35 sharks.

Though Akshay is a certified deep-sea diver the stunt went wrong when Akshay hit his head against the shipwreck and started bleeding. The main concerns were the sharks, since they get attracted to the smell of blood. Even then, Akshay had tried to brush it off as a minor mishap.

In 2007, Akshay banged his head against a wooden cabinet during the shooting of Bhagam Bhaag in Filmistan Studios in Mumbai. His makeup artist, Narendra Dada, a certified Ayurvedic doctor had treated him with ointments and other herbal medicines.

In 2006, Akki burnt his right footwhile doing a stunt for a Thums Up commercial in Cape Town, South Africa. The accident occurred when Akshay was riding a bike and had to leap with the bike over a pit of fire. The heat from the exhaust pipe burnt Akshay's skin and he was rushed to a local hospital.

I am ready to face anything: Sanjay Dutt

Sanjay Dutt speaks up about sis Priya, 'big bro' Amar Singh, pativrata patni, Maanyata, his detractors, the filmi feuds et al. And why he prefers being Baba over being the new Duttsaab

http://mid-day.com/imagedata/2009/mar/sanjay_dutt.jpg

From recent interviews, it looks like you've learnt to speak like a politician. You deflect questions and use humour to get out of some. How do you approach the media as a neta, Sanjay? Are you guarded?
No, I don't look at it differently at all. I feel I'm the same old Sanjay talking to the media that I was 20 years ago. But yes, I think time makes you more diplomatic in your answers.

You're seen as a Bombay boy. How has it been campaigning in Lucknow?
I know that some people feel I'm an outsider to Lucknow, but how can you do that? I'm an Indian first and I have the right to stand from any part of the country that I feel. Lucknow is a part of India. It's been a great experience campaigning and not at all tiring. My family has always been involved in social service and Gandhian sentiments. My ethics are the same.

Raj Thackeray recently brought up the fact that you were standing from Lucknow. Were you referring to him just now?
No, I never meant Rajbhai. Some people in Lucknow have been questioning why I'm standing from there. There has been a campaign against me, but I'm ready to face everything, even if they dig up the past. I can't start trading abuses, but I'll let my work talk for itself.

You've now appealed to the Supreme Court for your case. But your opponents have used the AK-47 allegation against you. How do you deal with this?
I'm used to it; I've faced it for 18 years. The allegations are baseless and they don't have their facts right. In its last judgment in my case, the honourable court has taken the draconian part out of my case. I'm no longer a TADA convict and it's now seen under the Arms Act. I feel people should go by the facts. I'm amused that they bring up my past, but it doesn't matter. I've helped people all the time for cancer, AIDS, drugs. I want my work to speak for me. I've been helping people not to be in the news, but because it makes me feel good.

Tell us five things about your constituency, Lucknow?
See, I'm still learning about the voters. I feel the essence of Lucknow is its chikan work and that has died. I'm trying to revive and enhance that. I'd like to do something in the IT sector and the medical facilities there are bad. I've been speaking to the people there and they have concerns like electricity, water, law and order. I also feel, why should people leave Lucknow for jobs? It's my dream that it gets so developed that other people come looking for jobs there.

The complaint against actors is that once they're elected, they forget their constituency. Will you be based here or in Lucknow? How will you be able to do all this work?
Lucknow isn't too far. I'm definitely not going to leave films, but I'll cut down on my work and choose my movies carefully. I want to do a lot. I know actors have faced flak over this, but I'm Sunil and Nargis Dutt's son. It's in my genes.

What about Parliament attendance? Actors are notoriously bad at that. How will you balance acting and politics?
You know, once you schedule your life, you can go with it. All of it is manageable.

Sanjay, how do you think your father Sunil would have reacted to you joining the Samajwadi Party?
It's a tricky question and difficult to answer. But my father was my strength, my force. I believe he would have respected my decision.

Your sister Priya said recently that you'd learn a sense of reality from politics. Is that true?
I feel I'm in the process of growing as a person after joining politics. I read what she said, but I think I've faced more reality than others (laughs). This is some new aspect she's talking about.

The popular notion is that your mentor Amar Singh creates rifts in families. Can you clear the air?
Nothing has happened in my family. There is no rift. It's because I'm an actor that it keeps getting written about. Every family has ups and downs. Priya is my younger sister and if she's said anything in anger, I forgive her. We'll always be together.

Amar Singh is like family. He's my older brother. He's been selflessly standing beside me. Amar Singhji takes a stand for someone he cares about and there's nothing wrong in that. It's a rare quality. It's not right to call him a home-breaker.

In a TV interview, you said your wife Maanyata had nothing to do with your decision to enter politics. This interview, though, was arranged after consulting her...
No, no, not at all. You see, my work is divided. I can't handle everything. Press, politics, acting if I did it all, I wouldn't be able to sleep! (laughs) I asked Maanyata to handle my interviews now. But really, her decisions are taken in the kitchen, over whether it should be biryani, chicken or kebabs.

If the court says you can't stand, will Maanyata stand in your place, like Amar Singh suggested?
That's not decided yet. If the court doesn't allow me, I'll respect that. But I'll still go to Lucknow and campaign for whosoever the party chooses.

You had the bad boy image, in real life and on screen. Will you stop doing negative roles if you're elected?
Depends on the role. The script is most important. People remember Munnabhai and Vaastav the most; the emotions and sentiments that come through. I've already cut down on gangster roles. But I won't let a character I'm playing define my life. People recognise it's just a character and I'm only entertaining them.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra said at the Jaipur literary fest that he was disappointed that the concepts of Gandhigiri and jaadoo ki jhappi were being used by political parties.
Vinod is my older brother; he's absolutely right. It shouldn't be used in campaigning I respect that and Amar Singh agreed. That said, I can't stop the public from chanting Munnabhai when I go on rallies. I can't stop you press people from using that to describe me.

How are things between you and Priya?
I'm not against my sister or I would have stood against her in her constituency. We're the same blood.

You raised objections to her taking her father's name?
I have no problems with a woman keeping her father's name. I was misquoted. But the fact remains that after a woman gets married, she should respect her married name. Even Indiraji could have kept the name Nehru, but she chose Gandhi.

What of Abu Azmi saying that if Congress puts up a candidate opposite you in Lucknow, you will campaign in Mumbai against Priya?
I've no answer to that. He never said that. The party decides, but I know they will not make me do it. They understand the bond.

How do you react to Varun Gandhi's statements? You are half-Muslim yourself.
I won't comment on that. I'll only speak for myself.

Rumours are that you're not committing to more dates on your film Blue, directed by Anthony D'Souza. Too busy with politics?
I've given all my dates to Blue. They had asked for 65 days, I shot for nearly a hundred. I'd give more to finish the film. There's no problem.

Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar lately, we've heard all of them take potshots at each other. Where is Sanjay Dutt in all this?
Sanjay Dutt is not a number. I'm not concerned with the numbers game. I don't get involved.

Will your friends from the film industry campaign for you?
If they come out of their own will, they're welcome. But I'll never ask them to campaign for me.

Finally, how do you people see you today as the new Duttsaab or as Sanju Baba?
I feel Baba will remain a favourite. As for Duttsaab, if I'm even 10 per cent of what he was, I'll feel like I've won the battle.

Prachi Desai with serial kisser Emraan

Rock On girl Prachi Desai will be playing the lead in Balaji Telefilms’ next movie, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai. The film is said to be based on yesteryear’s underworld don Haji Mustan’s life. Prachi, who has recently signed up for the movie, tells us more.

http://www.gobollywood.com/pictures/Prachi-Desai.jpg

“Yes it’s true that I have signed Balaji’s film Once Upon A Time In Mumbai. I can’t tell details about my character but its going to be a different character over all. I’m pairing opposite Emraan Hashmi. He is one of the most successful actors and the music of all his films have always been appreciated by all. I’m hoping that even this film will also be a hit. Besides me and Emraan, there will also be Kangana Ranaut and Ajay Devgan.”

Further she tells, “I’m happy that I’m back with Balaji banner but the only difference would be the whole crew will be different as the film is directed by Milan Luthra. The shooting of the film has not yet started but it will start soon and mainly the shooting will happen in Mumbai. I would have to a lot of research for my character.”

Prachi also shared with us about her flick Life Partner, “The shooting and the dubbing part for the film is over. This film was supposed to release on 1st May but due to the strike of multiplexes, it will be postponed.”

Genelia outsmarts Rani and Preity

Rani Mukherjee and Preity Zinta are getting old. Unlike smart cookie Aishwarya who’s still getting the best of films, these two have restricted themselves to different roles (of course because of a lack of offers).

http://entertainment.oneindia.in/img/2009/03/25-genelia-250309.jpg

It’s worse for ‘once upon a time queen of hearts’ Rani Mukherjee who made the major mistake of confining herself to the Yash Raj camp and has hardly any good role to talk about. Except of course about her dear Aditya Chopra's films.

She is losing endorsements to younger actresses left, right and centre and so is Preity. Their loss has turned out to be somebody else’s gain. After the success of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Genelia D’ Souza has found her feet back in Bollywood.

Genelia had moved to South when she failed to make a mark in Bollywood with her first film Tujhe Meri Kasam with rumoured boyfriend Riteish Deshmukh. Masti did nothing to her either. But now things have changed. Apart from big offers, movies with John Abraham and good filmmakers, she has become a hot favourite in the ad world as well.

The cute and petite Genelia has ad makers fighting it out for her. She is endorsing products that our ‘A-league’ Bollywood actresses once used to endorse. This includes Rani and Preity. Genelia is now the face of brands like Vatika hair oil and Fair and Lovely. After replacing Rani in the Fanta commercial, Genelia has now replaced Bollywood’s bubbly Zinta in the Cadbury Perk commercial.

Genie baby is clearly a young face and is great in-demand. Rani and Preity and the ilk have a lot to worry about.

Preity Zinta looks beyond Commercial Success

Commercial success is always welcome. But Preity Zinta has now reached a point in her acting career where she longs for more than that.In an industry where growth is equated with box office success, Preity has set a new parameter for herself. She is looking out for roles that help her in personal growth and she claims her role in Deepa Mehta’s film Videsh was one such.

http://www.apunkachoice.com/scoop/bollywood/img/20090325-0.gif

“I had reached the stage in my career where I felt I was stagnating. Of course, the commercial hits were raining and it was great but somewhere inside me I felt 'where is my growth'?" the actress is quoted by a news agency.

Having had her share of commercial hits in the early part of her career, Preity is now aiming at films that would remain etched in people’s memory.

“Today with commercial hits people remember you for a year or two but when I am old or dead what are the films that I will be known for? I want to have a body of work that inspires the actor inside me and helps me grow in my craft,” the actress added.

Preity has already worked in offbeat films like The Last Lear , ‘Videsh’ or Heaven on Earth and Har Pall .

Directed by Deepa Mehta , ‘Videsh’ has Preity playing a Punjabi housewife who overcomes the trauma of an abusive marriage through her spirituality and imagination.

The film hits the theatres this Friday.

Is Saurav Ganguly secured in the SRK’s team?

Now, it’s being talked whether Saurav Ganguly is secured in Shah Rukh Khan’s team or not? Though, King Khan has suggested that Ganguly should be kept in team, but it’s not confirmed yet.

http://www.freshnews.in/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/is-saurav-ganduly-secured-in-the-shah-rukh-khane28099s-team.jpg

According to the news reports King Khan SMSed Kolkata based daily The Telegraph saying “Won’t even comment on such nonsense piece of news,” when asked whether Ganguly would be in team or not.

The SMS further said that : “Dada and me are too self-respecting to cater to all the write-ups… You guys should support your team and Dada and make sure the team shines one day… Do look at the positives, instead of negatives… We, at KKR, respect Dada’s genius.”

But still it’s not clear whether Saurav would be available for the game or not. Sourav and Buchanan had a one-on-one on Tuesday morning, but neither was available for a reaction.

It’s highly unlikely that the captaincy issue wouldn’t have come up in one form or the other.

IN the mean time, somebody close to Sourav did reveal to The Telegraph, “Whatever Buchanan’s views on captaincy, and the different way he wants to approach it, Shah Rukh will almost surely have the last word…”

Riya Sen features in the Current issue of The Man

We all know what it takes to hit that note to send the male libido racing like the cars on an F1 circuit. This month's issue of 'The Man' does just that with the sultry beauty Riya Sen. A girl who made her first appearance at the tender age of 16 has certainly come a long way with roles and a bod that people would kill to possess quite literally.

Making her first appearance in a music video, Riya concealed the bomb that would come in time. It wasn't till four years later that she exploded on the Bollywood scene with her sizzling performance in the film Style.

Since then on, there has been no looking back for this stunner as she is by far the only female to grace the much talked about Daboo Ratnani calendar six times in a row. However, it wasn't her films that made her rise to the zenith; in fact it was quite contrary to her career. But being not just a femme that has been endowed with looks, Riya certainly has the brains, who ever said that beauty and brains don't mix?

This month in 'The Man', Riya literally sets pulses racing as she appears draped in an evening gown and flanked by gently burning candles that give her complexion that perfect dusky tone, enough to make any stone heart melt away to oblivion.

Mallika was Auctioned!

Mallika Sherawat, who is in Los Angeles (for the last three weeks now), attended a wine-tasting luncheon on March 15 at the Malibu Family Wines in California where she was invited as a special guest.

http://mid-day.com/imagedata/2009/mar/mallika.jpg

GOOD TIME: Mallika Sherawat with Ashok Amritraj
Happy invitee

The event was a fundraiser hosted by the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA). The guests and invitees had to bid for a wine-tasting dinner for 12 people with Ashok Amritraj, CEO of Hyde Park Entertainment.

It was supported by Wells Fargo, and featured a guided tour of the vineyard, wine-tasting, a celebrity auction along with a lunch and a peek at IFFLA 2009.

Says a source close to the actress, "Mallika doesn't drink and hence did not taste the wine.

She was just more than happy about being invited by IFFLA to be a part of the fundraiser and giving her the opportunity to meet the NRI community and to discover its culture something she is so curious about."

The source adds, "She was particularly kicked about the Celebrity Live Auction event, which offered the winner the chance to spend a day with Mallika at a professional photo shoot.

And a chance to enjoy lunch on the set with Mallika and have his/her picture taken with the actress by a professional celebrity photographer.

The photo shoot with Mallika Sherawat was sold for $1400.

The funds would go to IFFLA, a non-profit organisation devoted to a greater appreciation of Indian cinema and culture by showcasing films, honouring entertainment industry performers and business executives, and promoting the diverse perspectives of the Indian diaspora."

After IFFLA, Mallika intends catching up with Hollywood actor Gerard Butler with whom she's on messaging terms. The actress will be in the US for another month.

Kardashian Sizzling at Russian Play-Boy

Does anyone know the Russian word for "yowza?"

Months after she last graced the cover of Playboy magazines across the nation, Kardashian is featured in the Russian edition of the men's publication.

Russian Playboy

According to the reality TV and sex tape star, she didn't pose again for this version of Playboy. The company simply recycled old pictures of her from previous shoots.

Looks like Al Gore is right about recycling, though: it works!
